New Menu Visit:
Muir’s Tea Room
330 S Main Street Sebastopol, CA 94572
No one knows this, but Greece has a special place in my heart. If you’re a Reader or Follower and know how to reach me, you’ll have to ask me why next time we chat. (wink)
Those who have been here a while, know how I feel about Muir’s Tea Room and where they place on my meter. (another wink, hashtag if-you-know-you-know) (and if you don’t know, well catch up! Haha) It’s only so NORMAL that I would be there their first day back [from their annual July break] to try their new menu for you guys. And hello- it’s GREECE-inspired!!?! (raising hand emoji) Yess pleasse!
[Also, Disclosure… Ugh. So after uploading all the great shots I got from today’s tea service…all my files were corroded!! (Corrupted? But I like how ‘corroded’ sounds better ha) Thank goodnessss I take backup shots on my phone. (sweat bead emoji) So that’s what I have for yall today.]

Butterfly Bellini (peach and tangerine juice with prosecco) and English Garden (cherry, pomegranate and elderberry juice mixed with grenadine and prosecco) – I mean do you even have to wonder?! Of course I’m doing one of their prosecco cocktails…they make em SO GOOD. Was feelin peachy today! This one is nostalgic + comforting for me. I enjoyed every sip and even made noise with my straw at the bottom! The Huz wanted to try their English Garden and finished his too.

Muir’s Signature Butter Beer (non-alcoholic) – I don’t know why we’ve never tried one of these before!? But so happy we did, that was delicious + fun!

Pistachio Black Tea (strong, spicy, earthy blend complete with nutty pistachio and ennobled by rose petals) – They redid their menus and we liked it. This is newish on the list, so he went for it. Said it was kind savory and nice.

The Queen’s Rose Garden (mixed by Muir’s, sweet rose petals lend their soft touch to this beautiful well loved favourite tea, which is richly enhanced by warm, sweet vanilla) – I can’t remember when’s the last time I’ve had their Queen’s Rose but it was a great choice for me! Yall know I’m a Maple Walnut GIRL. But I tink this is a new favorite!? Super duper creamy!! I had several cups.

Santorini at Sunset Horiatiki Salata (a fresh greek village salad with romaine lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, red onion, kalamata olives, and feta “cheese,” dressed with freshly made mediterranean vinaigrette) – Their salads are “lick the fork” worthy mmkay, nuff said? I already got excited when I saw the white squares!! I have been a red onion fanatic lately, so I was so happy to see those. The tomatoes were so sweet and the olives brought a welcome saltiness. It was nice to eat LEAVES (again, iykyk) and not be scared, cuz I knew they were from a reputable source.

Posted 2 cuzzz I wanted to, haha.

Handsome Heracles’s Heroic Portokalopita (orange zest scone with apricots, served with house made lemon curd, clotted “cream” and imported preserves) – The bite into those chopped pieces of apricot was what texture dreams are made of. It was still so warm and comforting. So much tart flavor.

Sea Nymph Cucumber & Chive Tea Sandwich – I will never get over biting into that STACK of crunchy cucumbers. And how generous with all the chives. Put them in between each one of my teeth, I don’t care! I love em!!

The Immortals’ Celestial Spanakopita Spiral (tender flaky puff pastry filled with fresh spinach, Greek “cheese” and herbs) – Brilliant. It just tastes like there’s loads of butter between every layer…but I know there isn’t. But the tastebuds + brain still wanna believe there is!

Devine Dolphin Tonosalata (Greek chickpea “tuna” salad finger sandwich with red onion, dill and lemon) – That celery!! Perfect bread choice for this too. This was the Huz’s favorite. I even saved the last bite of mine for him…that’s Love!

The Midas Touch Agginaropita (phyllo shell filled with artichoke and hearts of palm) – I wish I got a picture of this one and the Sausage next to each other, alone on the tier, waiting for me cuz I saved them for last…cuz they’re my Favorites!! He asked me a question as I took my bite and I needed a moment. Somehow it’s smokey and a tiny tiny tiny bit of spice in there. Like howww do you pack such greatness in a little shell??

Golden Laurel Souvlaki Tea Sandwich (seasoned
“sausage” slices and roasted red peppers) – The chew of the bread, the bite through sausage, that sauce. Gimme 10. Pronto. Savored every moment.

Clever King Odysseus’s Ingenious Fasolakia Lathera Tart (the classic Greek dish of perfectly seasoned fresh green beans gently braised with olive oil, tomatoes, garlic, and potato in fluffy pastry dough) – The potato. (crying emoji) Who knows my love affair with their potato salad? (Hint: Click on our very first visit with them at the bottom of this blog post) Perrrrfect cook on those.

Wise Pallas Athena’s Thought Provoking Baklava (golden layered phyllo with walnuts) – I was so happy for the Huz with these cuz he luhs him some baklava. That was good, and I’m not even a walnut-lover. I swear, some of that ooey goodness dripped down my chin.

Beguiling Aphrodite’s Decadent Love Spell Sokolatopita (traditional Greek chocolate cake with ganache) – THIS tho. OH GIRL. There’s depth to that chocolate. I can taste the layers of flavor. The texture is everything too.
We were thrilllllllllled to be invited to try this tea service. Did I wake up in Mykonos or what?! I’m not well (or any) versed in mythology…but the names they come up with for each stunning item on those tiers are always so creative! Got to spend time with Mom + Chef too, which is always the best part. Our server today was darling too. Thank you so much Muir’s for having us!! Let me tell you- it’s a near 2-hour drive for us whenever we go…and we would happily make that trek DAILY. If you haven’t yet, plan to see them and try this menu. You only have through September!
Our Followers from our Instagram account may be gradually dwindling (as people notice we aren’t exactly “active” on there), BUT that does not reflect the booming numbers I get every week on this website! Thank you to our Loyal Readers and Donators. It means so much. You can still follow on IG (thanks to those that haven’t left), I post a Story here + there. Thanks too to the real ones who are subscribed here!!
